2009 CFC Campaign Final Tally

Feb 23, 2010

The 2009 campaign officially drew to a close in December and CFC personnel spent the early weeks of 2010 processing pledge cards, distributing awards and finalizing the numbers.

The Midlands Area CFC is pleased to announce a final tally of $1,296,454 raised. Though the final tally fell slightly below our goal, we are excited to report that overall participation increased. Even in this tough economy, the number of federal employees who gave to charity actually increased, though tighter budgets affected the amount the donors could spare.

Among the dozens of impressive agency campaigns, the following agencies represented the top of their respective classes in terms of total dollars raised, increase in giving and per capita giving and participation. The 2009 Eagle Award winners are:

Category One (1 -25 employees)
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
$1,404 increase in giving; $477 per capita; 67% participation

Category Two (26-99 employees)
Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
$4,027 increase in giving; $112 per capita; 63% participation

Category Three (100-500 employees)
VA Regional Office
$21,300 increase in giving; $126 per capita; 62% participation

Category Four (500-plus employees)
S.C. National Guard
$14,967 increase in giving; $25 per capita; 23% participation

As we close the book on another successful campaign year, local non-profits are already preparing their applications to be considered for the upcoming campaign. Those who donated through the 2009 CFC campaign are walking proof of what a positive difference Midlands area federal employees can make in their community by giving to charity.

Now, let's get ready for 2010!
